Drink it Up Historic-Style on Thursday

This Thursday, the 27th, the Historical Society of Pennsylvania is having an event for charity that sounds fun called A Shaken and Stirred Evening: How the American Cocktail Went Global. Some of the verbiage: “At this event, presented by the Young Friends of HSP, guests will trace the history of cocktails from the ubiquitous rum punch of the 17th century all the way to the flirtini of 2012. Guest speaker Joseph Carlin, native Philadelphian and author of the newly released Cocktails: A Global History, will educate you on everything from liquor to mixers to ice, including how to make a classic punch.” But will the Philly Flyer be served??? [NB: A PHILLY MAG LINKBACK!] It goes down from 6:00pm – 8:00pm at the Historical Society of Pennsylvania at 1300 Locust Street; $15 if you’re not a member of the Society or $10.
